ive read the atkins book, and im draggin my feet on getting started.. seems like something always comes up but i have a question for yins because i do not remember reading this...

ya know how south beach claims to eliminate belly fat? does atkins do that as well? no matter how skinny ive ever gotten my tummy has always been distended and THE hardest to slim down. just curious if any of you guys have noticed this. thanks

it claims that? never heard that one...

Atkins eliminates all fat, when the plan is followed correctly, no "diet" can target a specific area.

I agree with Emma, however with my OWN PERSONAL EXPERIENCE I lose in my tummy first. However this is prolly just me. The only way you will know is if you quit making excuses and jump on board!!!

            Re: tummy issues

I dont know if I lose in my stomach or not but it always seems to feel a LOT thinner on Atkins, probably just cause I'm not bloated anymore from all the carbs but it does seem to feel and look a lot smaller

I do know that when you give up sodas, even diet sodas that your tummy can seem less bloated from the lack of the carbonation in the sodas. A lot of people give up their sodas when they start Atkins and that helps immensely.

Dang, wish it was for me. It's ALWAYS the boobs, poor hubby lol

I remember reading that on South Beach too. I was on South Beach years ago & lost 9 pounds total. Unfortunately I put it right back on because I didn't adhear to it. My brother has lost over 60 & kept it off using Atkin's. So I'm giving it a strong whirl.

                  Good luck & START ALREADY!

The last time I got down to 100 lbs. my boobs went from a DD to an A. Wanted to add that a 100 lbs didn't look healthy on me though, need more weight than that.
