  • Yucky breath - What to do?

Eww! I am on Day 11. And I was hoping to see threads pertaining to this, but haven't yet, so...

What can be done for this?
I brush often (even my tongue), drink all 64 ounces of h20, spread my veggies throughout my meals, add lime juice to my h20,...

What do some of you do? I have not had noticeably stinky breath before and now I do, especially after meals!

I don't want to give in to mints or gum, but it's icky and getting old fast! Plus I have a dentist appointment in 2 weeks!

Well if you do decide to look for mints Walgreens puts out their own brand of mints made with splenda. They come in a little tin for .99. Peppermint, Wintergreen and Cinnamon.

Breath freshener sprays? You can get small ones to carry with you.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Re: Yucky breath - What to do?

I had this VERY bad. Then a friend gave me a recipe for a natural mouthwash, which is fantastic! It tastes nice and minty and is really good, it works! I got the oils in a health food shop.

        2 fl oz Water
        0.25 Teaspoon of baking soda
        1 drop Peppermint Oil
        1 drop Tea Tree oil

Mix together and shake well - it needs a shake before use too. You need very little and it fits in a small bottle in your bag (I use an empty vanilla essence bottle).

        Other things that helped were:

        Drinking EVEN more water.
        Chewing on parsley
        Sucking a dried clove

It seems to pass though - at least mine did. My breath is back to normal now, though I still use the mouthwash as I liked it - and also because I had a LOT of quite expensive oil to use up!

Thanks everyone! That mouthwash is something I'll have to try!

Hi. I see you posted a while ago but I just saw your post and have had the same problem. I use the listerine strips. They have no sweetner so they're great for me. I don't want to give up one of my splenda packs for a breath mint!

I am having a different problem - maybe ya'll can help me out... its not bad breath but dry mouth... I drink plenty of water between 100-140 oz a day (Need to ask my boss if i can move my office into the ladies room (LOL)) Anyone else experience the dry mouth sensation? If so what did you do to get rid of it?

              Thanks
