    Re: 1/2 marathon

Hi all - I finished my 1/2 marathon today. It was beautiful in Phoenix. I finished in just about 3 hours and 30 minutes. We walked a lot more than we ran. My friend got awfully stiff and at about mile 10, my shoes failed me. I had bought them in Nov. and thought they'd make it through. Live and learn! I went to CPK and got a salad afterward, right on track.
Tomorrow is day 14 - I can't wait to weigh in!

Thanks everyone! I am so glad I did it again.
Betty, I ran in those Nike shoes with the Nike Ipod insert. I am not normally a fan of them. My favorite shoes are Mizunos or Asics. When I have the $$$, I go to a running company and they watch me run (I overpronate!) and find shoes that compensate.
I threw my shoes out this morning and can't wait to get new ones. I have gigundo blisters on my feet!

Jules, it might be worth you taking those shoes back to the shop you bought them from. Running shoes are normally "good" for about 400 miles. They shouldnt have let you down so soon. Unless you have of course ran / walked 400 miles since November.
