  • Oh My!!

I am on day 4 - I weighed this morning and was down 5 pounds! I am SO excited! The real test was last night's weekly night out with my dad and his wife for supper. My husband was at the other end of the table so he didn't know what I ordered (and later told me he thought I had cheated). I ordered fish and string beans and was so proud when dessert was brought out and I said no. I really feel like I am going to do it this time and get this weight off. Thanks for such a great board - it has really motivated me.

            Re: Oh My!!

Congrats!!! I think eating out is one of the hardest thing to do. I took my hubby out for his birthday on Monday to Red Lobster, and it was soooo hard to not have just a piece of a cheddar bay biscuit....But I didn't! I also had the rainbow trout and broccoli w/ water. My husband couldn't believe that I didn't cheat! I was proud also!

In UK there is often a 'cheese board' option for dessert, which (as long as you dont eat the biscuits it comes with) is fine if you havent eaten your allowance already.

I went to a dinner before Christmas where there wa no alternative to the ice cream or Christmas pudding but as I knew (by asking the hotel beforehand) what the menu would be I took a small piece of brie in my handbag and nibbled on that while others were indulging in their carby desserts. Some of my dinner companions said they would have preferred cheese if it had been on the menu and were quite envious!
