  • Induction day two!

    Hi All,
I am a second timer but there has been a gap of about 4 years!!
I was on the second day of my induction yesterday and had to cook a three course meal for my daughter and her new boyfriend to celebrate her 16th.
I hope you don't mind me posting it to check that I am doing the right thing!

    Starter
6 king prawns on skewers with salad greens and a chilli and olive oil dipping sauce with fish sauce??

Fresh Tuna steak with salad nicoise (I didn't eat the potatoes)

they had mascarpone cheese and double cream with merigue and strawberries and I had a big glass of water!!

I am unsure about the fish suace but hope everything else is ok

Is mascarpone cheese a fresh cheese? I use it to makeTirimasu but have no idea what else its used for honestly. I know that its fatty content is accebtable but the ind t is may not be. Everythign else looks ok. OOOOOO fish sauce... i used to love hat stuff on rice noodles.

      Re: Induction day two!

      Your menu sounds delicious!

You need to be a little careful with fish sauce. The regular ones found in most stores often have sugar or corn syrup in them. If you buy in an Asian or a specialist food store you will find lots of brands that don't. Also, they are very, very high is salt, so be a little careful about that.

I think Mirya is right, Mascarpone is a fresh cheese so only edible on the dairy rung - but you didn't eat it, well done!! I use Mascarpone now for anything that you might use cream cheese in. I love it.

        Re: Induction day two!

A great meal - and what you ate was 'legal' for induction assuming no sugars in the fish sauce, so well done
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
