HI are Portabella mushrooms allowed on induction? I am going out to an italian restaurant tomorrow night for my husbands birthday, and the best that I can see on there menu is portabella parmesean which has portabella mushrooms baked with marinara sauce and provela cheese, or I could get the baked chicken parmesean which has the same What do you think? Would the marinara be a major no-no? Also are eggplant a no no?? I know that south beach allows eggplant am I right? Anyways, this is what I was going to get for the appetizer, eggplant paolo, which has baked eggplant with fresh tomatoes, spinach, mushrooms, melted provel and gargonzola cheese, drizzled with balsamic vinegar glaze with a side salad. What do you think?

Re: I need help
I would watch my carbs throughout the day then go out and enjoy the meal. Eat the chicken if you can while avoiding the main carbs. Go for the mushroom as mushrooms are induction friendly. The marinara sauce might have a few carbs in it but I personally don't think it's going to blow your diet. I think balsamic vinegar contains a bit of sugar but I doubt a drizzling will kill your diet. I'd be more worried about the breads, pastas, sodas and beers. When in doubt eat before you go to fill up and then you will not be as likely to loose your willpower. I've recently gotten into the habit of eating some low carb foods before I go out so my hunger doesn't get the better of me. There is nothing worse than going out hungry and trying to fight off urges for carbs.Grovemonkey
