  • Just finished Induction.....WOW!

Well on my way! I am down 15.5 pounds. Have stuck to induction religiously throughout........I have had no problem eating the required food, have actually had fun cooking. Never really done that before! lol

I think I'm going to continue induction till the end of the month for a good jumpstart. What do you think?

I took plenty of pics and measurements on the day I started and will do the same on Feb 1. Will share with all then.

Congratulations - a job well done!!

The amount you have lost is well over 10% of the amount you need to lose, in fact about 25%, which is not only amazing but means your metabolic resistance seems to be low - that's good news! I honestly don't think there is any reason for you to remain on induction for longer than the 2 weeks - moving to the first rung of OWL only means more veggies, which are good for you and not going to slow you down.

Staying on induction too long can slow your weight loss, and a lot of people have found moving to OWL helps them both lose more and feel even better. Your rate of loss is bound to slow down a bit anyway but I've never heard ANYONE report that moving on to the first rung and extra veg caused them any problem.

Remember you can stay on each rung of OWL for as long as you like. The big advantage of moving to OWL and up the ladder is that you learn so much about yourself and what you can and cannot eat. That is WAAAAY more important for long term weight loss than a rush to lose as fast as you can.

Keep it up - you are doing great!

        Re: Just finished Induction.....WOW!

I'm eating a bunch of veggies right now. Every day I ate mushrooms sauteed in butter....love mushrooms! I ate a salad everyday and also cheated with a couple of artichoke hearts about every 3 days. Also had 4 of the stuffed jalopenos for a snack about every other day.

What I did, on the advice of my Doctor, I ate 5 small meals a day. I know logistically its tough for most people to do this, but it worked very well fro me......keeping the metabolism going.

Congratz! I've been thinking about staying on induction a little longer too, since I have quite a bit to lose and it's recommended in what I've read. But it is interesting to note that moving on has helped people. I think I'll maybe stay on just 2 weeks longer in light of that revelation.

But bigdsaint, you could eat even MORE if you took Kates advice, which i completely agree with!

an extra 5 net carbs of veggies is all you need, and hopefully it will make you miss the pause that people experience when they stay on induction!

Congrats! Please consider moving to OWL 1. It really isn't that different from induction and you get to get more veggies. I have lost 19 of my 25 pounds on OWL.
