  • How's Your Induction Going?

Just thought it'd be a good thing to have a place where we can all post how we're doing instead of mentioning it in various threads.

I'm not doing so well plan wise at the moment. It's day 12 but I've been flattened (literally yesterday) by a horiffic cold so I didn't really eat, and reached for my usual cold fixer, echinacia and lots of orange juice, which I feel guilty about but I can't face anything else when I feel that ill. I've had another carton of juice today to try and fix myself, and it's slowly working. I think I'll be able to get back on track tomorrow.

On the plus side I've lost 9lbs since I started the diet. I'm down to 13st1, which is a number I havn't seen on the scales in a long time. 2 more lbs and I'll be seeing the number 12, which will be just amazing.

So basically, off plan but pleased with the results and restarting as soon as I can eat food again.

    How about everyone else?

I need weight conversion so I know what 13 stone 1 is.. hah
Hope you're feeling better! Toughest time for me to diet when I'm not feeling well.

    I'm on day seven.
As far as adhering to the plan I believe I'm spot on. I am showing signs of weight loss too, but I'm refusing to weigh until Induction is over.
Slightly headachy today, but I've felt good and more energetic over all. I attribute the headache more toward sleeping badly lastnight and maybe a little dehydrated this morning.. so I'm jumping on the water immediately.

    Overall encouraging!

      Re: How's Your Induction Going?

So today is day 15 for my daughter & I. I am going to go on over to the OWL stage actually I did last night with a bowl of ricotta!

I am still going back & forth over my weight loss. Jan 1st I was 181ish, I had a bad stomach flu & lost down to 176 by the 5th when I felt well enough to start the diet. Technically, I've lost 11 pounds today. I'm down to 170.4. But, only 6 since starting Atkins. That is still over my 5 - 10 % Dr A. says to expect. My daughter has lost 8!

I don't think I could have done it without this forum.

Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

            Re: How's Your Induction Going?

Well this is my scond start, the first time around i went from 239 down to 198 I was so excited to be under the 2's even if it was by 2 pounds lol, then the lure of the holidays kicked me off track, so this time around I decieded to start on my birthday which was jan,7th and every one thought I was nuts for not wanting birthday cake...so at my second start I was 217 and I am now down to 206. I kno I need to eat more and thats what i'm having a problem with now I think thats why I have been feeling so stressed out and drained, my first go around I was full of energy. So thats what I'll be working on for now...

              Re: How's Your Induction Going?

Hi ya, well I have lost 5 pounds and my jeans are loose around the middle, but I have felt really dishearted lately and so have eaten things I shouldnt have, the weather has been really lousy and we have had alot of worry about flooding, so I am staying on induction for abit longer as I think it will have hampered my efforts.

Are you moving on to the next stage or are you staying on induction

                Re: How's Your Induction Going?

I'm staying on induction, as I think I've had a few to many cheats and fails to count as a proper induction. I'm holding steady at 183 thought, depite a few stumbles. I agree with you the weather isn't helping, I just want chocolate and mashed potatoes with gravy (not at the same time), I'm glad I havn't gone that far though.

                    Re: How's Your Induction Going?

I don't think theres been a day it hasn't rained. It's more totally consistant drizzle than any actual downpours, but I reckon it's putting down the smae amount of water in the long run. Was out on friday night andthe Thames was dangerously high up the banks. How's gloucestershire doing?

I wish I was as stong as you, I was out on friday at a lebanese restaurant and I completely stuck to it, untill they brought out baclava. It's my favorite thing in all the world.

Lol, I have had to change my thinking...seriously.

Gloucestershire has been bad, we had power cut last week and everyones on tender hooks, I live on a hill fortunatly but my family live on flat land and they were flooded last year.......so whenever I speak they are of course abit disheartened and concerned the same will happen again!!. They have had seeping up accross the drive so far fingers crossed for water being in the house.

I think today, Tuesday will be important as we will get all the water from wales..typical isnt it.....you have to pay to get in, and they let us get out free and have their water free!!!he he

I am on day 2 of Induction today. I was feeling kind of spacy and low energy midmorning, but I feel better since eating lunch. I am absolutely floating from the daily water intake. I had no idea how little water I was drinking before now that I'm making a conscious effort to get my 8+ glasses in. So far so good though, I can't wait to see how my weight loss is going when i weigh in in a couple days.

I re-started induction after a huge Christmas splurge but I stumbled to day and feel bad. I'm not gonna beat myself up about it tho' or make excuses I was weak willed and that is all there is to it. I'll just be more concious of what I eat as of now.

Inkylady-you can only do what we all have to do from time to time-learn from it and begin again this moment!!! It took me 10 days to delete the Dt Mt Dew addiction and I felt like a cheater the whole time, so I'm doing induction for 2 more weeks CLEAN!!!!!!!! LOL, If I can do it so can YOU!

Now if I could just stop smoking.......ummm, next habit to break! Maybe I can work on that this next 2 weeks!
