  • 14 Day Induction OVER!!! Do I stay or Go?

    My 14 day induction period is over starting today!!! I did make it with absolutely NO cheats!!! I lost 11lbs in 2 weeks , and I think that's pretty good. I think it would have been a little more if I had have been working out like I should have. Now, the big question is do I move on to OWL or stay on induction. Please give me some help on this one guys. I have about 60lbs more I want to lose. If possible, I would like to lose it at least by the end of June or maybe the first of July. Now, do you all think I should go ahead into OWL or keep on with Induction if I want to lose that much in 4-5 months? PLEASE let me know what you think!!

    I moved to OWL after induction after reading how people did better (2nd timers) than they did when they first did Atkins and stayed on induction. So far, so good. I'm on rung 8 now and occasionally eat potatoes.

      Move onto OWL. I stayed in induction too long and have had much better success on OWL.

        Congratulations on making it through induction, cheat free. Congrats too on your 11 lbs gone forever!

        Now... I'd move to OWL too. Extended induction isn't really a true "phase" of Atkins, just an extension of induction intended for those who are seriously metabolically resistent to weight loss. Loads of people lose even more in OWL, particularly on rung 1, where you can stay for quite some time, if you like.

          Okay. I'll go on to OWL Rung 1 - More veggies. Now, how exactly do I go about that? Just add one more cup of veggies to my induction menu? 5 net carbs?

            Yes on the additional 5 grams of induction friendly veggies-----they won't necessarily be a whole cup depending on what you choose (like pumpkin)

              Wow! Good job losing 11lb in Induction.

              Definetly time to move over to Owl, alot more choice means you are less likely to get bored with the diet and help stop you cheating.

                Chicklady is right - 5 net carbs is not necessarily one more cup. There is a sticky in the OWL forum called 'The power of 5' (http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ead.php?t=5519) which lists what 5 net carbs of many foods equals in cups - I think about 49 cups of raw spinach or 3/4 cup of red peppers are both 5 net carbs!!
