  • time limit

    does anybody stop eating at a certain time? i keep hearing "dont eat past 7" or "dont eat 4 hours before you go to bed..."

    does that truly matter? i dont snack at 3am, but im just curious if i should stop eating after dinner bcuz i usually hit the gym around 630pm. thank you all.

    i wouldnt cheat on my love- ever in a million years, so why would it be okay for me to cheat on my diet?!?!?

    I eat when I am hungry...I don't really look at the clock.

      They say that eating before bed is a myth...as in you will gain weight if you do it....per Dr. Oz! However I do set a time to stop eating, which is 7:30 for me. I don't gain weight if I eat before bed, but I don't feel as bloated the next morning...this is just me personally, but I say that if it doesn't have a real effect on weight gain, then it doesn't matter when you stop eating!!!

        I let my appetite be my guide. Most nights I don't eat dinner till 8, so, usually not hungry. Sometimes I don't want a lot at dinner, so I eat a small portion and then at 10 I want a snack. Nothing heavy, usually a piece of cheese,etc. Takes away my appetite and no adverse reactions. I think as long as you are aware of your overall carb counts, snacking shouldn't be a problem. It's all about balance!

          I've read that eating late will make you not digest all your food properly cause your body basically shuts down. *shrug* Dunno if that's true. I eat when I'm hungry.

            Your body digests food, regardless of if you're sleeping or awake.

            I don't follow any silly rules about not eating after a certain time, because my days run LONG, and if I did that, I'd never get to eat dinner! I don't even get HOME until 7 or 8pm on most days, so dinner is usually around 8 or 8:30pm. If I'm hungry, I eat. Of course, the thing to watch out for (if you're eating late) is indigestion or heartburn or something...but that has never been an issue for me.
