Re: Atkins Shakes?
Depends on which book you read. '72- no. '02 - iffy, but really, no. Anything after '02 was written by Atkins Nutritionals (the people who make the shakes) and they say yes.
Avoid them for your best chance at success. If it isn't on the Allowed Foods List, it shouldn't cross your lips. Eat real food and you'll be more successful!
You can do a search on "Atkins Shakes" and see all the threads on them.

General rule of thumb for success: If it requires a degree in chemical engineering to pronounce it, you probably shouldn't eat it.

Re: Atkins Shakes?
I feel that Dr Atkins would have thought of using shakes instead of 'real food' as a meal substitute in the same way as he talked of not juicing veggies.Don't drink your vegetables. Juicing removes the fiber, which has the double merit of helping you feel full and maintaining a healthy digestive system. Juices also concentrate the sugars from vegetables, increasing the risk that they'll spike your blood sugar.Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
