I have the same problem about breakfast. I made me some deviled eggs with crab meat in them. Not imitation crab meat, but the real stuff. I was thinking about frying up some bacon and maybe mixing in some bacon or sprinkling it on the top. If I have to cook something in the morning, I won't do it.

Ooh deviled eggs with crab. That sounds lovely. You gave me a new breaakfast idea, Porcelain. And I HAVE to try the pumpkin thing now. And to think I used to hate breakfast.

I just bought a can of real crab meat since it was already nice and shredded and put it in using six eggs but I definitetly think it could be stretched for a dozen eggs. My next venture is to make them with a can of shrimp. Then, I am thinking bacon bits to have a new kind of bacon and eggs.

Re: Want to Begin Induction, But Need HELP!!

I have a hard time with the morning also. Most times I get up in just enough time to get out the door. For breakfast I have been having the Atkin's Advantage shakes. When I first posted that someone came back saying you were not allowed to have them on Induction... The website shows that it it aceptable for all four phases though.... Any insight? I love them b/c they are quick and they really curb my appetite in the morning. They normally saisfy my hunger until lunch time..

The Atkins shakes stall some people. They did stall me on induction and I had to cut them out.

Re: Want to Begin Induction, But Need HELP!!

Following Dr Atkins advice to us not to drink our veggies (as juice) but eat them I would not go for a liquid instead of food for a meal.

Apart from that the problem with many of the self-styled low carb products is that even if the manufacturer claims they are allowed for a particular phase of Atkins you really do need to read the ingredients list to help you decide if they actually do, or if the manufacturer is misleading you.

I dont know if the shakes only contain ingredients on the allowed list, so check the list to make your own mind up on this.

I do know that the old Atkins company website used to have a page where they said that some people reported that the shakes or bars etc did stall them, and if it happened to you you should discontinue their regular use. So it is a YMMV (your mileage may vary) matter.

                  Hi Jessi,

Well, how has your weight loss been while you're drinking the shakes? Have you stalled any during induction? I really love the shakes, and would like to keep them handy for quick breakasts and easy lunches, but I, too, have been told that I should not have them during induction. I am planning to do an extended induction, so I guess this means no shakes for a while.

What do y'all think? Occassional shakes Okay ...Yes or No???

                  Thanks,

Well, sometimes when you have something sweet like that, it makes you want more sweets and doesn't seem to effectively kill that crave in your mind. One of the reasons for induction is to break those cravings for carbs/sweets. I find the bars stall me.

I've been wondering what the exact problem is with the shakes/bars. So the issue is psychological and not physiological??

Re: Want to Begin Induction, But Need HELP!!

Well, I started induction at the begining of the month and also had the atkins shakes everyday for breakfast I lost 11 pounds in 2 weeks... Then I got a bad stomach bug and didn't eat for 3 days, so for the remainder of that week I ate normal food to get my stomach back to normal. I gained back 5 pounds. I re-started induction this monday with the shakes and I am down 1 pound by tuesday... I don't think they stall me but other than my veggies I don't have any other carbs for the day, plus I stay away from art. sweeteners. I also found last time that I didn't crave the sweets at all...

The problem with the bars is that they contain ingredients like nuts, milk, soya and grains so are not allowed on induciton!

Well - the Atkins company website did use to have a page on it where they accepted that the bars and shakes can cause stalls in weightloss, so the people who had complained to them probably would agree they were no good anytime

                                HELP!!!

I am new to the board and want to get started on the 14-day Induction. (I followed the Atkins Diet once before - several years ago - and did remarkably well (25 pounds in 6 weeks.)) Truly, I ended up losing too much weight and became a 5'7" size 4 (way too skinny!!!) So, in an effort to put SOME weight back on, I did not follow the OWL and Maintenance phases of the diet, and put ALL of the weight back on, plus plenty.

This time around, my problem is that I just can't seem to get started. My habit over the past couple of years has been to skip breakfast and lunch, drinking only coffee and water until I get off of work - around 3 pm. Then, of course, I eat just about anything that doesn't eat me first....

Does anyone know of some really easy breakfast items that I can either prepare the night before, or that don't have to be cooked at all, so I can just grab and go. (We have a microwave at the office, so that helps.)

One more thing... I've been wanting to get back to the gym, but just don't have the energy yet - - I'm sure it's because of all the heavy carbs I eat late in the day and my sluggish metabolism during the day.

Any advice and breakfast ideas you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

                                Thanks!!!
