    Greetings all:

I went on to Fitday.com today and started plotting my meals and I ran into something troublesome. In Dr. Atkins book it said that eggs are allowed on induction but the Fitday.com lists all egg foods as having one or more carbs. i thought we were supposed to treat eggs like meat. I hit 20 carbs on the tee yesterday because I had eggs for breakfast and egg salad for dinner. Please advise. Do I count the carbs in eggs (sad day) or do I disregard? Thanks in adbance.
    Tim

    Re: Eggs

Eggs have like, .9 carbs in them.

Fitday just rounds everything up so they say one carb.
It's really not a difference, eating eggs is fine for induction.

    Hope this helps!

      Re: Eggs

Eggs may be eaten liberally, says Dr. Atkins--that means until you are satisfied, not stuffed. Eggs DO have carbs, and you must count them. I believe it's .6 or .7g per large egg, but to be safe, round up and count each egg as one carb. Some proteins (like shellfish and organ meats) have carbs, too. Count carbs in ALL foods!

Dr. Atkins said that at least half of our induction carbs must come from veggies. The rest of the carbs come from protein sources that have carbs, cheese, and special category foods.
