  • Doing Ok so far...

So I've been on induction for a complete week now and have lost 7lbs... that's great, but I just wish I wouldn't have such an obsession with weighing myself. I intend on being on the induction phase for a month before I decide to move up the phases. Thanks for the support everyone and I will let you know how I am doing!

Congratulations! You're doing great! Try to think of the scale as a tool to let you know where you are... it's okay to weigh everyday as long as it doesn't depress you if you gain a lb or 2 as our wt varies from day to day due to water, hormones etc...
Keep up the good work and let us know of your progress!!! Yeah! 7lbs is awesome!

You're doing great! Nothing really wrong with weighing a lot, as long as you understand it's not the only indicator of weightloss and that you may have day to day normal fluctuations.. etc. and you're not the type to let that stuff get you down. I just find it helps me to curb the obessive tendencies and put it all in the back of mind except for meal planning..
      Start Date: 1/12/08 - 243.5
      First weigh in: 1/26/08 - 234.5
      2nd - 233

          well done so far
Make sure you take measurements or at least find some tightfitting clothes to use as 'outfits of truth' so even if the scales go on strike you can tell if your body shape is changing. Many Atkineers lose fat (meaning inches lost) even though they might not be losing weight according to the metal monster!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

I'm a daily weigher but as others have said you shouldn't sweat the fluctuations...it's the downward trend that matters.

I, on the other hand, had my husband hide my scale until the end of the month because if I see an upward fluctuation, I cry. I won't ask for the scale back until I Know I have it under control.

Congrats! 7 pounds is fantastic - I'm like Porcelain.. I find scales evil on a daily or even weekly basis - the pounds to not come off for me as easily. If they work for you and are a motivator go for it... but IF they start to become a distraction or start to discourage you try not to obsess and if needed hide the darn thing - I agree with everyone else... Find something that fits you tightly - you will notice the changes in your apprearance then with the become a little less tighter and then become baggy, then falling off you

                Good Luck
