just checking to see if ive got this right!! ive just eaten a fish bake with cheese paprika and tomato. it says for 100g there is 2g carbs of which sugars 1g and fibre 0.5 g. now the packet weighs 380g so i reckon the total amount of carbs is 2.3g which is 7.8g minus the (of which sugars carbs) 3.8 minus the 1.5g for fibre have i worked this out correctly>
    thanks

    Re: carbs

The net carbs is the total carbs minus the fiber. I would say round it up (just to be on the safe side) to 400grams for the weight to make it a total of 8g of sugar and 2 grams of fiber.

8-2=6g for the whole package although you have to remember the majority of our carbs should come from veggie.

          Re: carbs

Mike - in UK and most countries outside North America our labels do not count fibre as being a carbohydrate at all, so when they list carbohydrates that is the net with fibre excluded already.

So your fish bake was 7.8 net grams for the whole pack.

When Emma asked about sugar - she was alluding to the fact that the sugar listed in the nutrition part of the label which you quoted will include natural sugars from the tomatoes and paprika but it could be that there was actual sugar (or cane sugar or HFCS or dextrose or any of the other names that sugar hides behind) added to the product.

This would make it a product to be avoided. If this is so it will be listed in the 'Ingredients' list on the packet, which will start (hopefully) with Fish, tomatoes, paprika and maybe include other stuff like starches and unpronounceable chemicals.

We need to read these lists as well as the nutrition table to make sure our food doesnt contain non-induction additives.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
