• A Humble hello

This is my second time on this board. I looked around in Nov and read the books, studied the website and tried. Noticed I said tried. My mom always said if you try you fail so don't try, do. I didn't follow her advice. Excuses, too poor to buy veggies, too poor to buy meat, if I drink more splenda softdrinks I'll stay awake to write my book or the biggie... I hate my job nyum nyum. Some good things happened though, I stopped smoking (over 1 month now), started making friends and pampering myself. I feel strong. I also feel like I have no cute jeans.

So after a month of being a non smoker I am ready to be a slim healthy person again. I come humbly looking for support and friends. I come with an open mind to your knowledge and I come knowing the 4 shot breve lattes have to stop for this to work.

This is my second time too! You sound so motivated to do this! I am on my 3rd day, and am finding it so hard to keep my motivation when I am cooking roasted potatoes for my family...hopefully once the headache dies down and my cravings aren't so strong I'll be able to sound upbeat as well! The diet soda is what gets me too... Super congrats on quitting smoking! If you can do that, than you can totally do this too!

Well - you are one up on me --- you quit smoking That's one of my near future goals that I will hopefully officially announce in next few months -- baby steps right now.. By the way your Mom is right (we always are ) -- You can do this - this site has wonderful support. Do yourself a favor and go ahead an buy those cute jeans -- just my them a couple of sizes too small - that is your goal to work towards and I bet your fake money (since I don't know you and wouldn't know how to get you the money ) that you WILL fit into those cute jeans in no time!

Welcome back

It sounds as if you are in the best frame of mind to become a loser
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Welcome back, I remember you around here well! Great going on giving up smoking - I really wish I could do that, and I will but I'm not ready yet.

....if you try you fail so don't try, do
I really like that, it takes away the "at least I tried" consolation, and put a "just get on with it, this is how it is" attitude in it's place. Far more likely to succeed. And you sound like you are in a better frame of mind to "do" now!

Re: A Humble hello

Thank you all for the kind words. I needed them this morning since I woke up with full on induction blues. I'm considering calling in sick and having the weekend to let it blow over. I loved this board and was too ashamed to admit I failed but really coming here would have been a much better decision. I can't wait to be a loser.

I feel you on the whole "flu" thing...this is the first day since Monday that I have felt okay- still don't feel great but so much better than yesterday. I took Advil for the headache and made sure I drank a ton of water to help flush out all the junk. You should feel better soon, just stick it out!
