  • Done with induction, but I'm going to continue

Well, I've done my 14 days. I stayed the course except for yesterday. I had chili which probably had a few more carbs. But, I figured it was still a LOT less than any average meal. So anyways, I've lost 5-6 pounds and a few inches. (I can't remember how many) But, it's not as much as I would've liked. So, I guess I'll stay on induction a while longer. (another 14 days) But, my goal is 130. SO, we shall see. lol And my other goal is a 23 to 24-ish inch waist. The only thing I've really noticed is some slightly more toned areas. But anyways, I thought I would just share. It's been tough, but I did 14 days. (surrounded by cake, bread and many other things lol) I have strong will power I guess lol.

    Congratulations on those pounds gone

Did you look at the chart in Chapter 13 to find out what level of metabolic resistance to weightloss this shows?

Depending on what total number of pounds you are hoping to lose, I would guess you have either low or average resistance so probably wont benefit from staying on induction for longer than the 14 days and might be better moving on up the carbohydrate ladder.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Yep. Mine is low. However, I only have 10 more pounds to lose. So, I'm torn. :/ Decisions, decisions lol. Well, I suppose (as lazy as it sounds) I still have all my induction salad/meat and water here so..why not stay lol.
And thank you . I'm used to losing a lot more at a time, but this has been great too.

Your metabolic resistance is low, you only have 10 more pounds to lose - I think you should DEFINITELY move on to OWL.

I'm used to losing a lot more at a time
I'm guessing here, but this suggests that you are also used to putting it all back on again too!! If you want to lose weight and KEEP IT OFF losing it fast is not necessarily the best way, especially when it comes to the last 10lbs.

Dr A is very, very specific about that. You need to lose those last ten pound reaaaally slowly. And as you do so to learn how to eat in order to maintain. You will not do that by staying on induction. Slow climbing up the OWL ladder, with slow weight loss as you do, will give you a way better chance of long term success.

With only ten pounds to lose you need to get on the OWL ladder asap. If you stay on induction and reach your goal without doing OWL you will not learn what foods you can eat and in what amounts. I think not doing OWL leads to going back to the carby diet that caused the weight gain in the first place. I speak from experience as I am a second timer.

Lol, well unfortunately I definitely messed up tonight. I was kind of PMSing and really sore and really tempted and long story short..I ate like 4 pieces of cake. It's kind of funny to me, but depressing too. But, I guess I'll call it my halfway cheat? And tomorrow I'll hit induction again. But, I've literally been dieting for months without cheating so..it was bound to happen I guess. So, restarting induction tomorrow. Hooah. lol....Geez.

Only do induction again till you are back into ketosis though - dont be tempted to punish yourself with another 2 weeks of it!!

Then start climbing the OWL ladder and add 5 net grams of your induction-legal veggies.
