  • Gouda Cheese??

    Hello,

I bought some of this today as I plan on making a breakfast muffins (egg, cream, gouda and crumbled sausage). However it has a red casing, and I want to know how to remove this simply so that I won't waste any of this really expensive cheese. Also what does this taste like?

    All help is appreciated.

    Kelly

The "red casing" is simply wax. It peels off easily. And gouda is delicious, so enjoy!

MMMM Gouda! I liked smoked gouda melted on roast beef with some guacamole and roasted red peppers. That used to come as a sandwich known as the Pink Floyd at a 60's retro type place nearby; now I make it at home, sans bread. Still a yummy combo....and very induction friendly

make sure to use the smoked gouda-it has a very distinct flavor compared to the mild plain gouda If you've got carbs to spare, a few rings of red onion go well too.
