  • Help!

    Hi Evryone,

I'm on my 11th day of induction and have follwed the plan to a "T". But when I weighed this morning, I was saddened to see that I have only lost 2 pounds. I was wondering if constipation or working out could be hindering my weight loss? Also, what can I do about constipation? Any remedies??

    Re: Help!

Yes it could be, however, if you are only trying to lose 16 lbs, you have already exceeded the 5-10% expectation that Dr. A said could happen during induction.

      Re: Help!

      Hi
As has been said, with 16 pounds total to lose your 2 pounds gone with 4 days left to go till your 2 weeks are up is quite a good loss

As to constipation that might mean you are holding a bit of extra weight which will come off when you are able to 'go'.

Are you drinking enough water and taking advantage of the full 3 cups of vegetables including some with more fibre?

You could try Dr Atkins suggestion of psyllium husks, flax seed or bran added to foods - start with a tablespoon or so and see how that works. Make sure you drink extra water with it though.

And well done on exercising from the start too
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

        Re: Help!

The less weight you have to lose, the slower it comes off.

There are things that can stall it though like time of the month for women, not getting all your water in, artifical sweeteners for some ppl.

You could bump up for exercise as well maybe.

however, 2 lbs is awesome considering the time frame and what you need to lose.

          Re: Help!

Hi! Thanks for responding. 140 is my mini goal, I'm actually hoping to get to 130lbs so I still have away to go. Sorry for the confusion. Yup still constipated. I didn't know that bran was okay to have during induction. I'll get on that first thing in the morning! Thanks for the advice
