  • Starting induction

Hi Everyone, Im getting ready to start induction on monday. Will be shopping and cleaning out the cupboards this weekend.

I have a goal of wanting to loose 15lbs by 3/21. That gives me 5 weeks. Im not sure how realistic that is and wanted to hear from others that are on induction how much they have lost in the first 14 days.

I realize that everyone is different and the amount of total weight you need to loose also plays a part in what you end up loosing during induction. The goal is to loose 35 lbs maybe a little more if possible.

    Re: Starting induction

I think 15 pounds is doable, if you strictly stick to the plan...

i lost 14 pounds on induction, however, i had a lot more to lose than you do.

      Re: Starting induction

Welcome. The first time I did induction I lost 16 pounds, but had significantly more weight to lose than you do. This time, starting induction again - I just finished my first week and lost 7 lbs. Best wishes to you. Your goal sounds very do-able!

            Re: Starting induction

Setting a goal of so many pounds lost by a certain date can be motivating but can also be destructive if you dont achieve it, so dont get too upset if your body decides to follow a different schedule

We see so many people posting here over the years that because they didnt lose x pounds by x date they got depressed and decided that as Atkins wasn't working for them they just had to eat that donut or other carby food resulting in an all-out binge which took months to get over and decide to get back on the Atkins trail

So maybe also set goals that YOU can control by your own efforts?
            Like:
Eat only allowed foods for xx days
            Exercise x minutes x times a week
            Drink xx ounces of water
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

              Re: Starting induction

Thanks everyone. I went and got my ketostixs toady and bought some bacon and meat as well as allowable veggies. I didnt get some vitamis (mulit with no iron, MSM, Omega 3 and B potency) I think I may need to pick up some chromium. Am I missing anything else?

I do realize that everyone is different and so there is the chance that I may not achieve that goal but I do plan to stick to it regardless.

I know that this works if you stick with it. I just wasnt able to the last time but I hope to this time around.

                Hi Lica,
I am starting tomorrow as well. As I have been on & off this wagon before, I am not setting a goal for my 2-week weight loss. My goal is simply to STICK WITH IT. Good luck to you - Happy Inducting!
