Did anyone else feel extremely sleepy during induction? I'm on day 3 and had to take a nap. I'm not normally a nap person, but I slept for 3 hours. Last night, I also went to bed earlier than normal...Is this normal during induction? Or is it just me?

Re: Sleepy
I'm restarting but what I remember from my first successful trip on Atkins was Day 3-4 of Induction were the worst for me. It was around the time my body ran out of saved up carbs and was undergoing switching to burning fat for fuel - so I was tired, headachey and run down. I definately napped! =)Start: 162.0 | Current: 161.0 | Goal: 120 | Age/Height: 25/4'9" | RESTART DATE: 09-01-2008 | PHASE: Induction

Re: Sleepy
Yup, I am so sleepy at time I can't stay awake. And this is not like me at all. ANd I slept in till 2.30 pm today! That's 14 hours of sleep. Wow. I figure i'll listen to how much sleep my body wants at least on Saturdays.
So when does this sleepiness phase pass? Any veterans know the answer to this one?

Re: Sleepy
After two weeks the tiredness never passed so I had to up the carb intake (after exercise) and I feel much better now. I have made sure to stay in ketosis, but I did need the extra carbs, I think because of the exercise. I am certainly not a veteran here, so I am sure others have a better answer...

Re: Sleepy
I think finding what works best for you, sometimes even upping your carb intake 5g or so with veggie sources can boost your energy level for sensetive folks. I would say try to see how you feel by day 7, and try to make most of your carbs stem from veggie sources (like 12-15g) and see if you can snap out of it. =)Start: 162.0 | Current: 161.0 | Goal: 120 | Age/Height: 25/4'9" | RESTART DATE: 09-01-2008 | PHASE: Induction
