  • Off induction 2 days - go back on?

I just turned 40 , female, 6'1.5" and usually weigh about 150 pounds - I look pretty slim at this weight but not sickly. If I get below 145 I look anorexic. Last year I was up to almost 180 - luckily my height hid a lot of it, but I hated it. I used to have great metabolism til a few yrs ago when I discovered I have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. My TSH tends to freak out & I had to up my levo dose twice last Fall. Anyway, I finally got my TSH OK again last November but couldn't budge a pound - I thought cutting down a little and exercising would help. At this time I was 175. I decided to go on Atkins the end of January and lost 15 pounds in two weeks. I just decided the last two days (I am 2 days post-induction) to add some nuts, and I had 1/3 of a plain muffin this morning. I don't plan on eating much flour and sugar ever again, but wanted to test some homemade muffins I just made.
Welllll anyway, I would like to lose ten pounds more. Do I go back on induction or just make sure to keep my carbs way down? I would like to speed up the ten # weight loss. I'm not sure if my metabolism is "screwed up" now that I went off induction and it will take a while to "kick in" a faster weight loss or ???
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

congratulations on those 15 pounds lost

As to what to do next, I would suggest starting to climb the OWL carbohydrate ladder in the order suggested in DANDR rather than just adding a few items at random.

So first add 5 net carbs of induction-type vegetables and see how it affects you. then after a couple of weeks try 5 net carbs of dairy and so on.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
