  • Heartburn??

Oh, for the love of french toast...I have the WORST heartburn ever! Has anyone else had this during induction? I wake up with a headache everyday (which I know is normal), but heartburn?? I ate specific to induction today, the only thing I had different was 5 olives...could that have something to do with it??

your stomach and digestive system is kind of in a state of shock right now from the drastic difference in diet.

I find sometimes that some heavy cream or some mozeralla cheese will help sooth mine but when all else fails a zantac usually does the trick.

just hang in there.. it'll pass.

btw do you only get your heartburn when you wake up?

me I get heartburn sometimes when my stomach is empty. As soon as I put some food in it it usually goes away.

I haven't had it as bad this go around - but the first time I did Atkins it near about killed me. To the point I always keep Zantac around just in case - Tum's, etc. do not work for me. Hope it gets better soon!

You know, you've raised my eyebrows on something! The past couple of times that I've had heartburn, it was about 2 hours after I ate. I have been getting the heartburn at night mostly. I've tried to make it a habit to not eat late anymore, and I'm thinking that since I don't do the midnight snacks (cupcakes) anymore, I'm getting the heartburn.

I don't have it right now, but again, I only get it at night. I have some zantac on hand...I'm going to take one after I eat tonight and see what happens. Thanks everyone!!

                Re: Heartburn??

biscuits got it right...several of us have experienced heartburn. I was very selective about taking any medication for fear of side effects. After a while, I found that if I would exercise before bed, it helped. For some people, it was not eating after _____ at night, or I even remember a post about getting up at night to eat something very light to help keep the stomach from being empty.

Trick is to find what works, and go with it. But for whatever reason some of the OTC and prescription medicines for heartburn were not conducive to weight loss for me at all.
