  • Need a little advice.............

Hi all.... Ok, I made it to day five!!! Yay!! I've don'e everything according to the book, and I've been losing a pound a day, so far.
This morning I was a pound "heavier". Can anyone tell me why?? Would my cycle have anything to do with it?
Also... How many carbs are in raw shrimp? Say, 5to7 normal size?? I have three books on carbs, and all three say something different.
    Thanks!!!!!

It happens. All the time. Your weight loss is never going to be linear, you'll lose a pound, gain it (or more) back and lose it again regularly. It depends on so many things that are outside your control, and yes that includes your cycle.

However there is one thing you can control, and that is how you eat - provided you stick to the right foods, whatever the ups and downs of your weight on a day-to-day basis, the overall trend is going to be down. And that's all that matters.

You can't really expect to continue losing a lb per day in the long term. Up to now much of what you have been losing is water weight. That goes off very fast, fat is slower, so it was never going to be a rate of loss that would last.

All shellfish has carbs, albeit not very many, and yes you will get various different levels depending on where you look. When there is a conflict like this I tend to go with the highest level I find, just to be on the safe side.

Hi Mandi...I am new to this too but I have experienced the same...even within the day when I weight my self...morning I will be 2 lbs lighter and then by evening 2 pounds back on but like kate said, I think the general trend is downward and cycle definately has a LOT to do with it if ur like me...i but on atleast 5lbs when I am on...so don't worry just keep doing wat ur doing and we'll be where we wanna be soooon!

That is why many of us (not all but quite a few) that prefer to hide our scales... Sometimes, especially for me, when they are not reacting the way I want I get discouraged. Make sure to take your measurements -- really good indicator of how you are doing. As many have said - now one can tell you lost "xx" pounds, but they do notice how loose your clothes are starting to fit, how your face is not so full -- and even better to me that you know have collar bones

Can't answer about the shell fish as I am allergic to each! So I skipped that part

Thanks ladies. You're replies really helped!! I was beginning to worry, a little.

Yes Kate, I'm aware that I won't continue to lose a lb, per day, but I was on a roll!! lol It was great, while it lasted. Thanks again!

I too am guilty of weighing myself everyday! Hopefully one of these days, I can kick that habit lol. But almost every morning when I get on it, I see progress, so it keep sme going back the next day. There are days when it is the same or a lb higher, but I know that is normal and it also varies from person to person, so I don't get discouraged by it.
