Can you eat the egg and the canadian bacon on an egg mcmuffin, or do they have sugar in them?

    Re: McDonalds

McDonalds have good nutrition information on line that will tell you how much is in their food. You could not eat the muffin since bread is a no no. Perhaps you could make some Hollandaise sause at home and use with Canadian Bacon.

Liv is right, you can go here
      http://app.mcdonalds.com/bagamcmeal?process=menuitems
and choose the item and click on the 'go' button to see the info.
You can deselect the item you are not going to eat (muffin) and it will recalculate the nutrition totals for you so you can decide on your choice before going there and ordering.

Some places will serve it without the muffin if you ask them so you dont have to make the choice to throw it away!!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

        Re: McDonalds

I just ran across this thread by searching and I was in a situation a couple weeks ago and I had to find something to eat at mcdonalds (and I didnt want to go over my allowed time in between meals). I chose two double cheeseburgers, plain with no bun.

My question is.. do these mcdonalds patties contain sugar or something "bad" that I shouldnt have or is it just basically meat that were allowed to have while on Induction?

        Thanks a lot

          Re: McDonalds

I gained a few times last atkins go round when I ate double cheese burgers from MD's (no bun or ketchup) I did it once ang was fine but then while painting our house we needed something cheap and ready made so I had this for lunch and dinner, so twice in a row one day. Next day i was up 2 lbs. Sure it was water weight, no way to gain fat THAT fast but it had to be the MD's.

Burger king did the same thing to my friend who was on atkins.

Some ppl it might not affect but it did me.

            Re: McDonalds

I've poured over the McDonald's nutritional information because it was one of my fave places to go. I still can't smell their fries without getting irritable. Fact is, when you deselect bun, onions, and sauces, there is still a lot of carbs in their burgers. They have starch fillers in the patties that are listed in the ingredients information and those cheese slices are like 1.5 carbs each! It would do in a pinch if you REALLY have no other option but avoiding fast food as much as you can will help in the long run. Also, their ranch dressings has 9 carbs per serving. Yikes!

              Re: McDonalds

According to their website info (link in my earlier response)

              90...7....3....0...25.125. 0...0....8
So it looks as if there is no sugar in them, but there is a lot of salt/sodium which for many people means they retain water and so put on 'water weight' after eating them

                  Re: McDonalds

Well, I grab a double cheeseburger or sometimes 2 occassionally. I ditch the bun and pickles and the onions is negligible.

                    Re: McDonalds

I found out the steak and eggs is ok. also the contents of the breakfast burrito. (NOT to be confused with the mcskillet burrito) I would stick to homemade honestly. I know there are circumstances when you just can't cook and sonic, burger king, mcdonalds are great breakfast alternatives. Just remember that little bit of sugar can spike you. Is it worth it?

There's 3 carbs in the grilled chicken breast that they use for the salads. Stick with breakfast or the ketchup/bun free burgers.
