    Re: Salsa

When eating a "combination" food (a food made up of many components), check the ingredients of the product to see if it's legal.

Commercial/prepackaged salsas sometimes have added sugars.

I make my own salsa that is completely legal for any phase of Atkins, and it's so simple to make!

    INGREDIENTS:
    roma tomatoes
    jalapenos
    onion
    garlic
    cilantro
    lime juice
    sea salt

Combine ingredients in a food processor to your liking. I do mine in batches because my food processor is so small. This stuff tastes great right away, but it is AMAZING after a day or two! I usually use about 10 tomatoes, 3 jalapenos (sometimes if I want it hot, 4 or 5!), a big handful of cilantro, 1/2 onion, 1 "bulb" of garlic, and the juice of 1/2 a lime. Sea salt to taste.

You have to measure the ingredients for each serving, but tomatoes, onion, garlic, jalapenos, cilantro, lime juice are ALL LEGAL for induction! Lime juice is in the "special category" foods and 2 tbsp is allowed daily. If your weightloss stalls, remove the lime juice from your diet.
