  • Quick Question.....

Could someone please tell me the difference between "carbs", and "Digestible carbs??
I bought some "Dreamfields" spaghetti, and it has "5 digestible carbs, per serving" written on the box. I don't understand what it means. Please, someone try to explain this to me?? Thanks bunches!

Ohhhh..... Does anyone know the cocoa, splenda, whipping cream thingy, for a little treat?? How much of each do I add.

I use a tablespoon of cocoa, 1 packet of splenda, and enough cream to make it stirable. It really is pretty tasty!

        Re: Quick Question.....

        Here's the companies explanation:

Dreamfields "digestible carbs" are determined by a clinical method that measures the blood glucose response of the whole food to establish its glycemic load or content of digestible carbohydrates. This is unlike net carbs which is simply determined by estimating the digestibility of individual food components. The clinical testing is conducted at an independent clinical laboratory.

You do realize that this is not allowed during induction, and since it is made with wheat must wait until the Grains rung, which is rung 9?

Hi Jen, Thanks for the quick reply, and the link!! I will check it out.

Yea, I'm aware that I can't have it on induction. I buy things at the grocery, when I see it is "low carb", and "store" it for a later date. lol. I was just reading the box, and noticed that. I didn't know that I had to wait THAT long, though. Thanks for the info.

I had done the same thing actually, after I learned they would stop selling Dreamfields here in the stores. Funny thing is by the time I got to the level that I could have the pasta, I didn't want it anymore! I've probabably eaten it 3 times in the past 2 years. I don't miss pasta nearly as much as I thought I would.

Dreamfilds is very good..I find it almost exactly the same as 'real' pasta..though not sure if I trust they're carb counts. Apparenty you have to be very careful how long you cook it..it does specify that you shouldn't cook it longer than 10 mins...and I have read it will change the carb count if you do.
