1 week down, 6lbs lost
at 5'7" a fairly muscular male I started at 268lbs
my goal is 160lbs I figure it could take about a year to accomplish.
As a nightshift worker, I was unwilling to give up coffee and understood from Dr. Atkins' book that it could possible lower my blood sugar and cause cravings for sweets.
As a very strong willed individual I was willing to accept that trade-off
I did find one very interesting fact using fitday.com Coffee actually has carbs in it over and above the cream and splenda. That was an eye-opener and I had to adjust the balance of my day accordingly. So far so good!
One question I do have. I'd like to indroduce mayo in to my diet and I'm a bit confused about the labels. All the brands I see in the supermarket claim on the nutrition facts sheet that they don't have carbs/sugars however, every brand shows sugar in the ingredient list. How can I trust mayo when it's right there on the lable - contains sugar.
I've found a ceasar dressing that has no sugar (and a hefty price compared to the normal brands).
I live in Ottawa, Canada. If anyone has a source of truely sugar free mayonase, please post where here.
Oh ya, I've also started walking every day. I read the entire book and see how important exercise is to my overall health.
