  • Starving!!

So I am have already eaten my days worth of carbs and I am starving!!! I don't really know what to eat. Burgers without cheese? I hate that but I guess but I already had two burgers today and really don't feel like more. I need foods with no carbs at all to snack on. I am not focused exactly on portion sizes considering before this I would eat almost 3000 calories a day and dont even want to think about the carbs i was eating. I am a grazer. all day long i am eating- what are good snacks with 0 carbs in them? I want to get the carbs down before I focus on portion control but I do plan on working on that. Please any advice?

you can have cheese/s......many vegetables (broccoli, spinach)......chicken is a good one. eggs too, but i try to limit my intake, but again, others may eat them more often and according to atkins, thats ok. as far as what has zero carbs hmmm....not really sure about that?!

One slice of cheese has (in general) 1 ounce. You are allowed to eat 4 oz per day, so you can make those burgers more yummy by eating/adding the cheese. Just make sure you don't go over 4 oz.

About snacks, you can try pork rinds. I'm not a fan, but they do have 0 carbs so you might wanna try them out. Any other meat is also ok if you like it as a snack (e.g. bacon).

If you like veggies more, you can snack on some crunchy sweet pepper or on cucumbers. To make them even tastier, you may add a legal dressing (e.g. mayo).

And when you feel hungry, just drink another glass of water. It will make you feel full for a while, and hey - it has 0 carbs!

        Re: Starving!!

That was my toughest problem when I started. It's hard to think of 0 carb snacks but now I'l eat pepperoni, ham slices, egg salad, deviled eggs, tuna salad. If your that hungry cook a steak or chicken. Keep a roasted chicken in the fridge and pick at it throughout the day. In a few days when your body switches over to burning fat your appetite will decrease. For now remember if your hungry eat, that's the plus of this way of eating.

tuna made with real mayo on scandinavian bran crisps, the crisps have 3 carbs but all 3 are fiber so they are zero net carbs it's nice to eat something crunchy sometimes.

During my first two weeks on Induction hard boiled eggs, deviled eggs, and tuna with mayo really got me through. They are fairly low-carb snacks. A 0 carb snack that someone already mentioned is pork rinds. They're good plain when you don't have carbs to spare. If you have some carbs to spare they are good with sour cream (flavored with spices if you'd like) or drizzled with melted butter and sprinkled with cinnamon and splenda.

                            Re: Starving!!

I love pork rinds. Another thing you could do is just boil some chicken, skin on, and shred the boiled chicken in the broth and eat it for soup. I do that, I just add a little salt. And if I needed more "filler" for my tummy I would eat pork rinds with them. This is really good and satisfying. Also, boiled eggs is another good one, 0.6 carbs to an egg but if you make a devilled egg, it is more filling or make a tuna salad with that egg and tuna and mayo.

This crazy hunger will pass. I was like that on induction now it is like "Damn, I have to eat again!"

                              But not really induction-legal!!
Dr Atkins did say we could add one tablespoon of plain bran to our food if we were constipated, but for eating larger quantities we ought to wait till the grains rung of OWL.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
