  • Help me to evaluate my diet

    Hello, I'm new and would like to lose about 20 more pounds. Please evaluate my food that I eat everyday, for the past 8 days already:

    Lots of Cheese (Monterey Jack Cheese / Colby & Monterey Jack)
    Chicken wings (220 cals, 15g. fat, 1g. carb, 20g. protein)
    Eggs
    Sometimes fish, chicken breast etc., but above is what I always eat.

    I lost 6 pounds, but in the last two days my wieght has gone up 2lbs, so now its 4 lbs. I'm 222lbs 6ft large frame. And it seems I cannot get past 220 mark. I also do cardio on the bike, my average calories for the past 7 days are 1,678 cals, Fat - 69.8% (898 grams), Protein - 30.2% (873 grams), Carbohydrates - 0.0% (22 grams) - carbs are little higher than that though. Any suggestions?

    Welcome to the ADBB!

    Where is the veg? That's the first thing that springs to mind. Assuming you are on induction you should be getting most of your carbs daily from veg. Since you are eating around the 20 carbs a day and not eating veg, it sounds like you are eating too much cheese - you are limited to 4 oz daily on induction.

    If you are not on induction and have moved to OWL then the absense of veg is even more startling. You should still be getting most of your carbs from veg as you move on.

      Just wanted to say Kate it right. Induction should include 3 cups of salad veggies per day. I recommend that you read DANDR 2002.

        Having done this before, I'll agree with some of the others. Two things stick out.. "a lot of cheese" and a lack of veggies would probably be the problem. I know that too much cheese always stalled me, or at least slowed down my loss, so I only ate it sparingly and would go back into a losing streak.
