  • Induction Flu........HELP!

Im on my 7th day on induction and heard about the induction flu. I have been dizzy, nausea, and Headaches for about 4-5 days now. Its wierd because it only seems to happen in the afternoon to when I go to bed. the mornings have been really good. Does anyone know how long this will last? I have 50-60lbs I want to lose, so I would be on induction for awhile, is this going to last most of the time while I'm on induction?

    Please help

Usually, it is gone by day 10 at the most. It should stay away too as long as you don't cheat and eat within the program. Once you get those bad things out of your system, you will be feeling much better. Good luck! You are doing great!

            Re: Induction Flu........HELP!

Just stay with it and make sure your eating only induction foods. I went through it in my second week of induction and for the first 10 days I had the worst headache from caffeine withdrawals. It's scary to see how our bodies can get addicted to certain things.
The biggest thing is to drink TONS of water to flush out your system faster. Good luck!

Your body is in revolt! It liked being the way it was. Be assured, this too will pass! It is absolutely miserable. I also had a major headcold with the flu. The easiest thing would have been to ingest comfort foods and binge and give up. Please don't. You are giving yourself the gift of health! It is also a battle of the mind. You will get overwhelmed and think that you cannot do it when you look at the large picture. You need to set mini-goals and celebrate the heck out them when you get there! This way of eating does work! Stay strong and take care of you!

                Re: Induction Flu........HELP!

Thanks for all the support! so, I should be having 12-15 carbs of vegtables a day? and they can be a mixture of the list for induction? I thought I read we are only allowed 3 cups of vegtables a day......Am I wrong? I'm a vegtable lover so this wouldn't be a problem. I will definatley keep up the water intake. Thanks again, you all make this an easier way of life with your support

                  Re: Induction Flu........HELP!

No, you are right. On induction you are supposed to eat only 3 cups of veggies, but some of the vegetables on the induction list are quite high in carbs so you can reach 12-15 g in 3 cups.

The 'rule' says that you should eat two cups of low-carb vegetables and one cup of vegetables from the 'Other vegetables' list. If you don't have the book, you can find the list here:

                    Hi Blondie
As the others have said it normally only lasts a few days or so, so should ease off in a while if you stay on plan and drink your water.
However with 50-6- pounds to lose you dont really have to stay on induction for very long if you dont want to.
Many people actually find they lost MORE weight after moving to OWL than they did while staying on induction for a very long time.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
