  • I feel so good!!!

I was one of those people that did not believe in the atkins diet. I would get to day 2 and just feel like I was going to go and steal all the potatoes in Idaho and eat them until I exploded. I never believed the cravings would go away, but here I am on day 7 and I feel fantastic. My husband can sit right next to me with a bag of dolly madison powder sugar doughnuts (my fav) and it does not even tempt me. This is so amazing.

I have lost 3.5 pounds, which might not be as much as others but I am happy. Just the way food is not controlling my life after one week means more than what the scales says because I know the weight will come off now.

Good luck to everyone, although with the atkins plan luck is not needed as much as it is with all the other plans.

I know it's amazing isn't it? I am on day 20 (Still doing Induction) And i feel exactly the same as you. My friends & family can sit right next to me eating chocolate, cakes, all the things i used to crave. Yet, now i wouldn't go near them!! That stuff just isn't tempting to me anymore.

I think someting happens in our brain that just make us NOT want them. Personally i think its a miracle. lol As i used to be the BIGGEST choclate lover in the word! Now i don't feel nothing for it???

Lets all shout "BYE BYE CRAVINGS!!!" lol

Thanx for sharing, and well done on your 3.5 weight loss!

Thanks and keep up the good work yourself. I hope I stay as excited about this as I feel right now. I have always been the "bigger" of all my friends and family. It will be so awesome to feel proud of myself...I just can not wait. For the first time ever I really believe I can do this. Not just diet, but make a lasting life change. I never thought I could believe I could give up the sweets and breads, but I can. I am so happy.

Aww...way to go!!! Isn't it amazing how you don't get those cravings anymore? Sometimes it sneaks up on me, but nothing I can't handle. I mean before, I'd settle right in on the couch and just devour the entire bag of oreos. Keep up the GREAT work and effort!

              Re: I feel so good!!!

It took me about a month and a half before I had any cravings and they were bad for a day when I went to Disney ...it took me a day to get over it but now I am fine again. I dont' even eat any artificial sweeteners. I hope by the time you hit something like that you will be strong enough to say "It's not worth it." and not cheat. I fell off the wagon when I did this before and, you know, it never tastes as good in yoru mouth as it did in your memory... an you might end up with diarrhea or at least feeling like a rock in your stomach.

                Re: I feel so good!!!

i'm so glad you are having great success!!! i, too, was amazed that my desire for anything "bad" actually subsided. today i was at ikea and smelled cinnamon buns which would be enough for me to buy one ... but now i can just appreciate the smell and move along. it's so, so amazing.

and on top of that, i have such faith that this is such a great way of living that i've pulled my dad on the atkins bandwagon, too! my dad isn't overweight by much but he wants to develop healthy eating... my brother is next, mwa ha ha.

                  Re: I feel so good!!!

If nothing else, I think that's the reason that this way of eating has worked for me when NO OTHER DIET has. Yes, I've lost weight before, but I always had hunger pangs and cravings. I totally hope to "convert" as many people as I can. I'll do it sweet & subtle at first, then POW. When the weight has dropped so much that people do a double-take, I'll start sharing my AMAZINGLY tasty snacks. They'll be totally hooked then. I can't believe how many yummy ways I can enjoy veggies.

                    Re: I feel so good!!!

Keep up the great work...I know what you mean about not craving the carby stuff...I used to NOT be able to walk past the "twinkie" and "cupcake" shelf at the gas station where I get my coffee. Like I would DIE if didn't have friggin' yankee doodle!!!

Now I hardly notice them and even if I buy something for the kids I don't even consider eating it myself.

                    What a great freedom...

Ditto!! I feel the same way. Went grocery shopping the boy's got their normal assortment of junk and I didn't crave any of it. It was a powerful feeling to be in control of your cravings.
