  • Scrambled egg question

I was eating that the Golden Corral buffet and thought it was OK to eat the "scrambled eggs". I then saw them bring out new "scrambled eggs" and they basically opened a bag that they had boiled the "scrambled eggs" in and dumped them into the pan. So, clearly there is something more to them, like fillers and other stuff. Does anyone know the carb count of the "scrambled egg" mix that buffets use?

    Thanks

I would check the nutritional information section if they have a website.

OK, thanks. Website says 2 carbs (2 sugars) per 3.5 oz serving but doesn't list ingredients.

          Re: Scrambled egg question

I found a site for a company that sells similar products and the ingredients for their scrambled eggs are:

Whole Egg, Water, Skim Milk Powder, Corn Syrup, Salt, Xanthan Gum, Citric Acid, Sodium Phosphates, Annatto

Guess I'll have to stay away from the scrambled eggs at the buffet.

Speaking of scrambled eggs...I thought I was getting good Atkins safe food by ordering a sausage pattie and scrampled eggs at McDonalds... it turns out, not so! From McDonalds website here are the ingredients.

              Sausage Patty:
Pork, whey protein concentrate, water, salt, corn syrup solids, sugar, spices, dextrose, monosodium glutamate, spice extractives, caramel color, BHA and BHT and propyl gallate and citric acid (preservatives). CONTAINS: MILK
              Scrambled Eggs (2):
Pasteurized whole eggs with sodium acid pyrophosphate, citric acid and monosodium phosphate (all added to preserve color), nisin (preservative). Prepared with liquid margarine: Liquid soybean oil, water, partially hydrogenated cottonseed and soybean oils, salt, hydrogenated cottonseed oil, soy lecithin, mono- and diglycerides, sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate (preservative), artificial flavor, citric acid, vitamin A palmitate, beta carotene (color). CONTAINS: EGG AND SOY LECITHIN
