  • Restarting after pregnancy

Hey everyone! I am back after having a beautiful little boy Dec. 26th 2008. He was 6.11 pounds. Talk about a cool xmas present. My 2 little girls were thrilled, and I can honestly say this completes my little family unit. (I made sure it would )
Both my husband and I went on the atkins last spring... now we are restarting together. April 10th was our official start date.

I tried restarting not too long ago but only made it to day 12. I didnt know why I caved so soon after starting, I can only toss it up to not having my mind totally made up to drop the weight-and I wasnt using the atkin forum boards.

I wish all you guys luck!
    Take care.

Hi Cheers! Congratulations on your new baby boy. Awwwww........

That must be the most incredible Christmas present.

Hey girl, who cares if you gave in after day 12, what matters now is that you're back on the wagon for good. You've lost on Atkins before and you know it works so you're on a good start.

    Hope to see you around.

Congratulations on your sweet baby boy! I can relate to your struggles, I've been there. We had another child in March of 2007 and after a little over a year of breastfeeding, my body was a mess. I am not the type who loses weight while breastfeeding...I gain it because I'm ravenous all the time. Maybe that's my sugar/carb addiction though. Anyway - I'm thrilled you're here and now I have someone that can relate to what I was just going through.

You can do this - you really can! I had to refocus myself by thinking that the joy isn't in the food, but in the people. I'm here to cheer you on sister!

Congratulations on your new baby boy!

I've restarted also after having a baby boy. I've spent the last 18-19 months of my life being pregnant and breastfeeding and I'm thrilled to finally be able to get back into the low-carb lifestyle. You can totally do this - you really do have to focus on what is more important in the long run - food or family?

I've been going strong for 8 days now and I am STILL having cravings. Last night I went to a meeting and PIZZA was being served.... but I didn't have one bite of it even though I had to smell it for almost 2 hours! I just kept thinking to myself that my health is more important, I have been on Induction for a full week-why blow it now, and that pizza doesn't run my life.

        Welcome back!
        It's now or never.

          Re: Restarting after pregnancy

Im so excited to be on here again. Ive had to reset my password a few times due to lack of memory/ a mommy illness only. lol
Well I am doing great. I did have to drink some diet ocean spray yesterday cause my kidneys were hurting- but it only had 2 carbs per 8 oz. I had 2-3 glasses, which helped tremendously. I am down a full 10 pounds!
I told my dh that he better keep working hard cause once I lose all the weight I want to lose that I want to have a formal wedding. lol Our first was very causal- but I want this time to be not huge or anything but definately want a simple elegant cream gown-
He told me he marry me any day, as many times as I want. Does that mean more diamonds?? lol His job takes him away from home for 2-4 weeks at a time (then he is home usually 2 weeks) and he hasnt seen me since before I started back. WHat a neat suprise I have for him when he does get in.

I am coming up on day 14, so I am proud of myself for toughing it out. I know what abbellire about some smells of food. Mine is fresh baked bread.

I am still trying to work out 30minutes a day. I exercise with Gilad off fit t.v. I also got some toning bands I use when he is using weights. I just improvise.

I gotta go finish dinner for the kids. Take care!!
