  • Stomach cramping and SO THIRSTY

So I have a couple more questions here on induction (which I'm loving)...

One, today as I cooked lunch I had horrible stomach cramping...I mean all the way from bottom of ribs to pelvic bone or so....it's gone now, but it was definitely alarming...

Second, I have always been a BIG water drinker (my DH almost thinks I drink too much....a habit since HS choir).....I'm still SO THIRSTY on atkins so far....and I probably drink 3-4 liters of water a day....

    Any insights?

    THANKS GUYS!!

I had cooton mouth feeling for quite a while as well. I just drank whenever I needed and now over 2 weeks into Atkins I am fine. Just so long as I drink minimum 1 gallon of water. God Bless, Joe

Ah.... I remember it well! Induction does cause diuresis - aka loss of fluids and electrolytes ( also known as mineral salts...) Look for ways to replenish both at the same time - I don't mean just table salt! - your body can do most of the adjustments, normally, if you take in a proper balance of essential elements...

Ah, this implies drink plenty of water but also do make sure you get your needed minerals...

I do drink lots of water to replace that....but minerals? Is that just via a good multivitamin? Cause I do take that. And eat my veggies! (I love veggies)

I've always drank a lot of water and when I'm in ketosis I drink even more. I'm constantly thirsty. A great side effect
