  • My second on induction menu!!

Hello there, i wondered if anybody would take a quick look at my menu for yesterday(1st day) and tell me what they think...is it ok for the induction, better to get it right in the beginning.

    Day 1
Breakfast:2 eggs(Srambled) with small splash double cream & 1 tomato.

Lunch:3 slices of Geman sausage, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and spoonfull full fat mayonnaise.

    Snack:i no its wrong lol(Mistake !!!) 3oz cheese

Dinner:5 Beef sausages from butcher with 1/2 Mashed turnip and Spoonfull Butter.

I can see two things wrong, possibly the Cheese and too much vegetables, i understand it has to be 4 cups....i was very big on Vegetables so this has been very difficult for me.

OH, i also drank 3 litres water.
Had one cup of de caff tea, which i know is wrong now, was pointed out to me by another member lol

Re: My second on induction menu!!

    Hi

Your menu looks fine to me - the daily cheese allowance is 3-4 ounces, so you are within the limit.
The only thing you might have problems is the sausages. In England most sausages have fillers like rusk or breadcrumbs in them so would not be induction-legal. I dont know if butchers in Scotland do the same.
You need to check with the butcher as to what is in them as well as meat.

Most british bangers are not only made from meat and spices even if they are called '100% beef'!! This only means that all the meat in them is 100% beef, not that the sausage is 100% beef.

The german sausage is probably OK as most continental sausages do not have breadcrumbs but you need to check the label ot see the ingredients to be certain.

The veg allowance on induction is 3 cups - which can be 3 from the 'salad list' which includes lettuce and cucumber as well as many others, or 2 from the 'salad list' and one from the 'other veg' list which includes turnips and tomatoes.

If you prefer to weigh your veggies (like most of us outside USA) there is a thread at the top of this forum where Soliwit compiled a list of how many grams make one cup of each the induction veggies which I find very useful.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

I'm brand new to Atkins, but I do know that too much water is as bad for you as too little, if not worse. It messes with your sodium and electrolytes. In your other post you mention feeling unwell--I suggest you try cutting back to 2 liters a day and see if you don't feel better.
