  • Do I need to restart?

So I've been eating a REALLY CLEAN induction.....and then understandably having success. Serves me right for eating out.....

We ate at Applebees last night, and I thought I did good....caesar w/o croutons, veggies on side, steak. Well, I left feeling weird, and my first thought was "were there some kind of hidden carbs?? DARNIT!"

Then I read elsewhere here that they inject their steaks with dextrose?????

I am very frustrated as it DID put me up 5 pounds (albeit water weight) this morning. I've eaten so clean and by the rules.

Do I need to restart my 2 week clock???

    THANKS, GUYS!

Re: Do I need to restart?

croutons are so not on the induction list of things you can have. in fact, there is no need to worry about having them till at least the grain rung.

i would not start over. i would recommend looking over the allowable list of foods in your book though just as a refresher.

      I said without croutons..... (w/o)

I was just frustrated about the steak...I figured it was allowable, but Applebees injects stuff.

      Any other help?

I wouldn't restart, I'm sure you'll lose those 5lbs you gained very quickly. That stinks about the steak though...Good to know since we sometimes eat there.
I ate out yesterday too, a Chicken Ceaser without croutons too, but when I was eating the salad, I couldn't help but wonder about their dressing... I guess you never really know what you're getting...

Re: Do I need to restart?

I would nto restart your 14 days induciton for 2 reasons
          1. If we had to do this after a slip some of us would never get to OWL!!
          2. You need to know how much weight you lost in your initial 14 days to see from DANDR what your metabolic resistance to weightloss is. If you restart and count the weightloss in the next 14 days it will not include any initial losses you ahve already had, so will 'skew' the numbers and might make you think you are more resistant to weightloss than you are.

With a bit of luck you will re-lose that weightgain quickly, as it isnt fat but retained water from what you ate. Usually this will vanish in a few days as long as you keep eating on plan

It is a good idea to check with any restaurants before ordering, or even before getting there.

Many of the countrywide outlets have nutrition info on their websites so you can see if something that usually has no carbs does have unexpected ones, and know to ask them about any additives/marinades/sauces used in the cooking and ask for plainly cooked alternatives.

Smaller establishments are usually happy to tell you what they use in cooking dishes if you tell them you are not allowing yourself to eat sugars or starches to avoid medical problems.

I used to say I cant eat sugar or flour or I break out in FAT nowadays I say I have lost half my former body weight by avoiding sugar and starchy foods and do not intend to put it back on again!!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
