  • Starting induction tomorrow Wed 05/07/08

Finally got the book last night read chapters 10-14 so I am ready to officially begin... I started from the beginning of the book now as I think I need to read the entire book but I did read the chapters suggested here before beginning.

I have my vitamin supplements and the game plan.... I'll weigh in the morning for my offiical weight and I did measurements this morning. IS that all I need to do to get started? I would have started today but I got up and drank 2 cups of coffee while finishing the chapters...

I have a couple of questions... Okra is on the approved list does that mean I can have FRIED Okra? And my understanding is that we are to have NO sugar from any source is that correct?

    Thanks.

I've been told that it is best to not have any sugar at all including Splenda, etc. but I've also heard that if you really need it you are allowed 2 packets of splenda a day...I think. I'm still waiting on my book, haha!

okra is fine any way you cook it. The problem with frying is breading. You can't have it in the traditional way fried with flour etc. People use all sorts of things such as crushed pork rinds, parmesian cheese, flax seeds or nut meals to make breadings. Not all are legal on induction I used to use soy flour and made really good breading but it is further up the OWL ladder. I've just recently restarted and I'm not there yet either.

              Good Luck!

Yeah I didn't get any splenda at the store I forgot and I can't drink coffee without something in it... I put sugar and creamer this mornign without thinking... Decafe coffee is fine with me I just need to start buying it again... I drank decafe everything while pregnant with my twins and my son so that's not a biggie... but I have been drinking 1/2 decafe for a while now... Can I get a cream that is 'approved' to put in the coffee or is that out?

                thanks.

I drink regular coffee (the one thing I couldn't give up! LOL) but only 1-3 cups per day and I drink it plain.

I think that heavy cream is allowed on induction?

Yeah I only drink a few cups sometimes only get 1 but I like it... heavy cream is allowed but don't laugh but what is heavy cream? Where do you get it? I've never used 'creams' other than coffee mate or the off brands of coffee creamer... I have never seen a 'heavy'

                      Thanks

Please dont post email addresses on the forum, folks!

I have edited out the two I saw in this thread, as it is not a good idea to put them out where anyone who visits can gather them.

Please wait till you are able to send pms and then send them privately for your own security/privacy.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!
