  • Start today 5/7/08

    Started this morning. Eating eggs and drinking coffee. Planning on tuna for lunch and porkchops for dinner.

    I can do this.

      Welcome and have a wonderful day!!!!!! If you haven't done this before make sure you have the book and read it as often as you can ......... don't be suprised if you feel a bit off for a few days as our body adjusts to your new WOE

        I had a beef jerky but I'm thinking that may not be acceptable. It has 0 sugar but 2 carbs and the 3rd ingredient is corn syrup. Aagh!

            My understanding is if its NOT on the induction ACCEPTABLE list don't eat it. Did you get the book? I got mine off Amazon for $.01 plus $3.99 shipping... took a few days BUT there is a thread with all the acceptable foods...

              Yes I have read the book and you are correct. If it's not on the list, don't eat it.

              I'm feeling good right now, don't know if it's the food (less of today) or just the fact that I"m doing something positive for a change.

              I have ketosis sticks at home. I should check one in the morning.

                I just read the book and JUST got on board with Atkins 2 weeks ago so I am NO expert...LOL just writing down what I read...

                    OP, we started Atkins on the same day. How'd you do yesterday?

                    I did great, ate correctly, drank my water, did my 20 minutes on the treadmill, and am feelin fine so far.

                    How was your first day?

                      Cool. We started together. I did very well yesterday. I had a massive headache by the end of the day at work so I took a quick nap when I got home to reenergize and it went away. This morning I had coffee and leftover pork chops (2 small boneless thin sliced). I am already noticing a difference in my appetite, thank goodness. I know it may sound crazy but I am not going to plan any exercise routine just yet. I have a herniated disc since Feb 3rd (my 40th birthday gift) and I still have to be careful. I have started walking around 3x per week but when I did an aerobics routine for 15 mins. it put too much stress there. But when I drop some pounds, it will become easier. That much less weight to carry around.

                      Looks like our weight is around the same, too. I put 20 lbs as goal but that's a mini. I want to do a list of mini goals like the one above here. I'll have to ask how to do that.

                              You can add your minigoals and anything else you want to appear at the bottom of your posts by putting the info in your signature

                              To do this click on the link 'UserCP' (cp= control panel) and then select 'Edit signature' a box will appear where you can add your minigoals etc.

                              Maybe also add something telling people your gender and height plus starting/current/goal weights. This helps when others are trying to answer any questions you have, and saves us asking the same things again and again .
