  • May 8th - Day 10 Of Induction For Me. Weight Loss Slowing.

For some perspective - I'm short, standing only 5' when I stand nice and straight.

At the beginning of Induction, I lost a few pounds at a time having that "whoosh" effect. Now I notice I slug at 1/2 to 1 pound at a time, every couple of days or so.

I have been struggling to lose the last 5 days because I seem to gain 2 lbs. back everytime I lose a pound.

For example, I woke up at 163. Throughout the day I gained upwards of 4 lbs. from eating and drinking lots of water. I went to bed. Woke up the next day at 165.

Then I felt down. I sweat every pound.

It took me a couple of days to get back to 163.

I know I suffer from terrible impatience. But I can't help it. I can't successfully swear-off the scale either.

So, I just come here to feel better. And it works! Especially if someone's on-line to chat. I like chatting. I wish more people did that. But the chat room is always empty.

Anyway, today I finally saw the number 162 on the scale and I'm ecstatic!

It seemed to take forever!! My mini goal right now is 160. I guess I just need to keep coming here and to also keep reminding myself to try veeeerrrry hard to be patient.

Am I losing weight at an average rate? Please look at my ticker below and let me know.

I just want to thank you again for your support. I don't think I could do this without you.

You don't have much weight to lose so you may end up losing at a slower rate. If the scale is causing you so much grief, I'd toss it. This is coming from someone who's been scale obsessed in the past. Honestly, the only thing that works for me is that I'll weigh myself every 2 weeks or when I feel a difference in my clothing.

I forgot to ask - how many days into induction are you?

At least you are losing and you see that scale going down. If you are exercising, I would imagine a slight weight increase due to you building muscle. Or, you may have had too much sodium the previous day therefore causing you to retain water. Possible. It happens to me. God Bless, Joe

Don't fret about your rate of weight loss. You're losing at a great rate seeing as how you're only looking to lose 22 lbs. When you get that close to goal, weight loss slows down tremendously. As an example, I was losing 2 or more pounds each week until I reached the last 15. Those 15 took a total of 4 months to finally come off.

Just have to be patient, follow the plan and stay the course and you'll hit goal when your body is ready. Make sure you start moving up to OWL once your induction period is finished as that's where the majority of your weight is to be lost. Many people even experience a slight increase in weight loss once they begin working up the rungs. Staying in induction too long is often more of a hinderance than anything as those who do often find themselves in the second time around club.

          All the best!

Thanks everyone. I can't wait to move to the next phase. I don't think I'll benefit from extended Induction. Just a few more days. I'm hanging in there.
