    Well I'm having a moment like no other moment thus far... I so want a piece of cake, ice cream, cookies oh just anything that is digustingly sweet and fattening... OH give me strength!!!!

      Thanks for the support.. this is really hard!!!! I had NO idea that sugar is so addictive.. its very similar to smoking... I quit 2 years ago and still would LOVE to have a cigarette but don't.... I have no intention of cheating just want to really bad.. so figured I'd better get on here and ADMIT my shortcomings to the world... have three kids so they have all kinds of stuff I would LOVE to have.. peanut butter is one of my favorites... but thats not on the list..LOL anything sweet would do at this point thats crazy isn't it!!!! Do the cravings for sugar ever go away????

        I still struggle with them from time to time. I almost cheated yesterday because it was Mother's Day. It was a good excuse. I survived it though. Whew! It is hard. I understand.

              Not sure what the next phase is really so I'm not much help, sorry. Want to explain it to me? I am tryign to read the entire book but haven't gotten past chapter 3 yet.. I read 10-14 but not much stuck in my head.. mommy brain these days I can't remember much..

                Can't explain much because I'm just beginning to learn myself except that you add 5 carbs a few times a week for a week to gage if there's any change in how one loses. I think that's right. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but that's how I understood it. Anyway, I just fear change.

                  Hi Cheryl:

                  I have been in induction now for 17 days now and I have to be one of the biggest sweet eaters ever. I absolute love them and I would substitute a meal to eat cake, cookies, sundaes, etc.

                  I haven't had any of those things since induction, but I have to admit, I do want them...crave them from time to time. I recently made a cheesecake (Atkins friendly). I made a small version of the original recipe.

                  8oz of light cream cheese
                  1 egg
                  1 teaspoon of vanilla flavoring
                  Splenda (The recipe measured in packets and I have a box, so I just put enough in to satisfy my taste, but not too much...you just taste it while your putting it in)

                  I baked it for 30 minutes and put it in the refrigerator for a few hours. It is the best substitution for cake and it satified my sweet tooth. The carbs are less than 1 per serving. It is well within our menu selection. I put this non carb chocolate topping with some whip cream and I feel as if I'm at the Cheesecake Factory. I don't have it everyday, but it is a great desert.

                  Some may say, fight the craving, but I look for a happy medium. I have loss 12 pounds within my 17 days and feel great. There are many desert recipes on the Atkins forum. I'm always looking for recipes so I won't get tired of the same things.

                    I know how you feel. I am a chocolate lover. I mean dedicated chocolate lover that I have dreams about eating chocolate and cookies. I've tried every swwet recipe I could and none seem to work. I finally just stop and try to fight it. I do have a Kaluha Italian Soda (low carb style) from time to time.

                      Thanks everyone!!!!! I didn't mean to vanish kids needed me so had to leave. I tell you I didn't cheat but I did eat some cream cheese on celery with bacon topped... and I ate more meat than I normally do but I didn't cheat!! No matter how badly I wanted ot I didn't..

                      And as soon as I'm out of induction and can legally have these desserts I will be whipping them up..YUMMY!!!!!

                          This online store has a lot of good low carb products and there is even an "induction friendly" section. Its really good for when you want to have a treat now and then without cheating.

                            - coffee with cream that is sweetened with Splenda, Sweet n Low or Stevia

                              Thanks SO much for your support!!!! I believe I have to give up coffee with caffeine... I was doing REALLY good then I got splenda over the weekend so I thought I could have a cup or two but was wrong. That is the only change I had made then the cravings for sugar went crazy. i was feeling AWESOME before that so i think i beg off coffee until I can get decafe this weekend.
