Hello Everyone :wave I'm a newcomer to the forums. However, this is not the first time I've tried this diet. In 2002 I tried it and lost almost 70 pounds and I felt GREAT! Due to certain circumstances I came off of my diet and gained my weight back plus more :sadblinky I currently weigh around 325 and I am 5'5. I have decided that I am sick and tired of feeling sluggish and lazy and ugly. I'm ready to hop back on the horse and try it again. The only problems is....today was my first day and I already cheated! :yikes I drunk a sprite and eat a little bit of spaghetti.

I was doing good until my mom started fixing spaghetti. I'm really angry at myself. I can't believe I cheated on the first day!!! Ughhhh!

I got so hungry and the cravings were unbarable.

What are some good snack foods? I don't have the atkins book but I have another book, it's called....The Carbohydrate Addicts Diet. I'm going to try again tomorrow and this time I'm going to be stronger.

    hi and welcome to ADBB.

Be sure you get Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, 2002 edition. Carbohydrate Addicts Diet is completely different from Atkins and if you are doing Atkins the CAD book won't be of any help to you at all.

If you want to get reading, visit the FAQ section this board, read the stickies at the top of this forum and visit the http://www.atkins.com and read through the "how to do Atkins" parts.

Dont be so hard on yourslef...it did it to on my first day.It sometimes takes a fall back to realise just how much you want it.

Keep your chine up, dust yourself off and make tommorrow a new day. As for your mam making lunch, explain to her that you need her to support you with this and to not put things in your face as much.

      Hope this helps

        Best of luck to you..

Hey, You're gonna be fine. Besides, I'll bet your mom's spaghetti was great!

Pasta is one of my downfalls too. I'm going to try some of the low carb pasta when I get to OWL. I'm just restarting induction.

Hope things go well for you.

welcome to the board from a former 300+ pounder. :wave

I'm not buying the I don't know what to eat cause you just posted you did the program in 2002 and lost 70 pounds so obviously you do know how to do it correctly. You do know what you can and can't have Drink lots of water and hold tight cause you also know how it feels when your ketosis kicks in :yes and you are just 3 days from that if you follow the rules. :nod

Thanks you all for your support Today is a new day and I'm doing great so far. So far I have eat 2 pieces of turkey bacon and some cucumber and already drunk two bottles of water lol. It doesn't sound very appetizing but it was actually pretty good and for once I'm not sleepy and tired after eating. I can actually do this! I'm trying to get my mom to do it with me. My BF is doing it with me, but I only get to see him about once or twice a month so, it's still kinda hard. I hope to have lost at least 20 pounds by the time I see him again. He's lucky though, he only has 29 pounds to lose to get to his goal weight of 180 lol.

I found a picture of me at my goal weight....I put it on my refrigerator so that everytime I go to get something I'm not supposed to have I see it and change my mind lol

I do remember what ketosis was like and I can't wait to get there! It's so hard to do but it will be worth it in the end when I can actually go shopping and find clothes in my size! Right now I'm a size 28, I hope to be able to wear a 18. I'd be so happy to be able to wear an 18. lol

                        Hi! :wave

Welcome back to Atkins! and you know, just forgive yourself we all fumble and bumble sometimes. But it sounds like you're really committed and that's essential.

Please get the book, I really do believe without it failure is almost certain. I'm reading it again and so much seems knew to me. I was on Atkins years ago, lost a bunch of weight (40 pounds) sailed of course and put it all back on plus 30 extra.

Although there's no shortage of low carb lifestyle and diet books out there - using one of them for Atkins is like buying a book on French to learn to speak Italian.

                        Attitude + knoweldge + perserverance = success

That's the truth, so give yourself every chance to succeed and you will, I have over 100 pounds to lose too - but I'm gonna get there and so are you!

                        Peter ha
