  • female question!!

I am a new Atkins user! I started Induction on Thursday.....weighed myself friday and lost 4 lbs.!!! Then I started my period {early} on Monday....weighed my self on tuesday and GAINED ALL 4 LBS. BACK Ihave not eaten more than 12 carbs off the acceptable list on any of these days. Could this be because I started? Otherwise loving it! thanks for all responses. dydy

    Re: female question!!

Wait out the "tide" and stick to the program, it will happen....
You could always post a menu for people to look at it also.

Don't forget a lot of women's weight fluctuation during TOM for various reasons: bloating is a big one. Wait it out! Stick to the program you can do it!

        Re: female question!!

Dr Atkins mentioned this problem only once in DANDR
If you start Induction before or during a menstrual period, it may take longer for weight loss to register.
So be reassured - a gain or temporary halt in weightloss is normal for us!
I bet if Dr Atkins had been female there would have been a whole chapter devoted to 'TOM' (aka time of the month)
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

          Re: female question!!

You'll see a decline in the scale once your TOM is over. I gained a few pounds during mine as well. However, I lost them (plus more) the next week.

            Re: female question!!

TOM does horrible things to my scale as well. I'd advise you to try to steer clear of your scale at least until after your TOM. I don't go anywhere near mine during that time because if the numbers go up (and they always do) I'm not going to be happy. Congrats on that 4 pound loss

make sure not to be eating the atkins bars or drinking the shakes. I thought they were part of the induction, but they are not.
