  • Beware of tooo much flax...Groan...

I have been making those flax muffins in a cup. They are great, makes you feel naughty for just having one. But I've been having one every day for the past three days and yikes it hit me...so be careful.

Re: Beware of tooo much flax...Groan...

A lot of people find that they keep them 'regular' but do remember that on induction they are allowed as a cure/prevention for constipation, and then only using small amounts of flax (linseed in UK).

So if you are using a recipe that has more than one or two tablespoons of flax you would be overdoing it! If so either make several smaller ones in smaller cups or limit your intake by splitting it in at least 2 pieces and eating only one of them a day.

The nuts/seeds rung of OWL is the place to add more flax if you want.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Here is a link to a recent thread with a recipe (http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ad.php?t=43179) - remember, 4 tablespoons of flax (linseed) is at least double the amount you should use per day on induction and then only if you are having constipation problems.

for using flax as a regular baking ingredient in larger quantities like this recipe which uses 4 tablespoonfuls you should wait till the nuts/seeds rung of OWL or halve the recipe and only eat half of it in one day.

Joe, i dont really follow that recipe how it is....

            I use:

            2 tbs flax
            1 tbs sweetener
            3 tsp cinnamon
            (stir those together)
Add 1 tbs melteb butter and microvave 20 seconds
            add tsp cream
lay on sheet and microwave one min...

or if i want a muffin i replace the cream with an egg.

That looks more suitable to induction than the one I posted, Dot as it has less flax.

              Thanks for posting it
