    Re: Today is day one

Congratulations on starting. Do you have a lot to lose?
I have found that it helps me to concentrate on what I can have rather than what I am not allowed to eat. But yeah this is a bit of an adjustment.

      Hello,
Congratulations to the first day of the healthiest lifestyle you'll ever have. . You'll find your Atkins Flow. Liv is so right. It's really important to focus on what you're allowed rather than what you're not.
If you have cravings for sweets, buy some L-Glutamine to help fight the cravings It really works. Make sure you're drinking your water. It will help flush your system and get all the toxics out that have built up in your system from eating processed food over time. If you get to feeling cruddy in a few days with headache, it's because you're detoxing from sugar. We call it Induction flu here. Just hang in there. It last anywhere from 24-72 hours. As soon as it's gone you'll get a great energy boost.
Keep your DANDR 2002 book close and reffer to it often. It will help support you through all stages of Atkins and help you stay motivated.
Hey, if you would like a ticker to keep track of your weightloss you can go to www.tickerfactory.com . Also, list your stats in your signature to tell us a little about yourself like starting weight (SW), current weight(CW) and goal weight (GW), your height, or age, whatever you want to put in there.
Get involved with your journey. You may want to go to Journal Chats and start a journal. It's a great place to keep track of your day and people can come visit you with loads of support. A great way to meet people and make new friends. Build a support circle around you, so important. Find something that you're passionate about rather than food. Be it exercise, a hobby, work, etc. This is not a diet. It's a lifestyle change. It takes time. It's not a race. Never compare your experience of weightloss with anyone elses and never put a time limit on your weightloss. We're all very unique individuals. All that will do is get you discouraged. As long as you're working the plan 100%, you'll get 100% result.
I look forward to watching your success here.
      Sincerely, Sherri

        Re: Today is day one

Thanks for all the information. I was on locarb a few years ago but it's been so long a refresher is good for me. I'll get some of the L-Glutamine always good to b e prepared.
I have to buy a scale. I tossed mine out about 5 years ago when I gave up trying to lose weight. They were good ones too so I'm really sorry about that. I did take my measurements today though, so I've got some baseline. The fact that locarb isn't a diet, but a lifestyle has always aluded me. This time I want to approach it much differently.
