  • Done with 1st week of Ind/PMS Issues

I'm thrilled that I've lost 5.6 lbs. the first week and feel great except that I got my period much earlier than expected. Needless to say, I do feel quite bloated and hope that next week at weigh in I can lose at least 3 lbs. just of period weight.

Does Atkins affect your cycle at all? Happy to say I had NO CRAVINGS for sweets like I normally do but was surprised to be so early. I know I can do this diet now that PMS cravings shouldn't be a problem in the future.

I have heard that some people are thrown off by it. I had a miscarriage back in March and everything has been out of whack since then. I did notice this time (on TOM rightn ow) that my hot flashes and moodiness was much worse while on Atkins. I think it may be because of Atkins but I'm not sure.

Re: Done with 1st week of Ind/PMS Issues

Lots of us experience 'different' symptoms from usual when that time of the month comes around. Some people find they gain a few pounds which usually leave afterwards with a few friends

      Dr Atkins said that
If you start Induction before or during a menstrual period, it may take longer for weight loss to register.
Other changes people seem to find are heavier or lighter, longer or shorter periods, more regular or more irregular periods, so it is one of those YMMV (your mileage may vary) things
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Mine was definitely different. I had cravings, but I knew those were to be expected. However, they weren't nearly as bad as they normally are. My TOM was much lighter this time.
