  • Day 9 weight stall

Okay, so I am on day 9 and so far have lost 7lbs so far. Today I jumped on the scale and not only have I not lost any more weight, but I actually gained back a pound! Is this water weight? My Keto Strips still show me being in ketosis. Is this stall normal and has it happened to anyone else? How long? My moving scale is what keeps me motivated to keep this up!

    Re: Day 9 weight stall

How often do you weigh yourself??? In induction we can expect to lost 5 - 10% of the weight we need to lose, it is completly normal to lose a big chunch in the first then little to none the second week. Don;t get discouraged.

Also, take your measurements so you can see the inches going down and try to only weigh yourself once a week.

    Good luck!!

Thanks! I weigh myself every morning even though I do expect some sort of changes. I think your right though-I'm going to measure myself right now!

Trust me, when you do not see the pounds coming off the inches will tell you another story.

I know how hard it is to not weigh yourself every day, i struggle with that too but i love seeing a 5 pound drop once a week rather than a maybe 1 pound drop a day.

        Keep us updated!!

          Re: Day 9 weight stall

Remember that a 'stall' is not losing any inches or pounds for 4 weeks!!

One thing we have to discover whan we are on a weightloss regime (hate the word 'diet') is that our bodies weight changes up and down all the time regardless of what we eat, so we have to accept that the scales will not always reward sticking to plan by showing a continuous downward trend day to day.

Many of us advocate not weighing each day on induction especially if you are going to wonder what you are doing wrong if the scales stand still or go up. If seeing a jump in the weight makes you doubt your food choices or otherwise ruins your day it is a sign that for you daily weighing is NOT a good thing, so stop doing it

If you can treat ups and downs as interesting rather than mood-setting then by all means weigh several times a day and observe how your body gets lighter and heavier throughout the day - you could even start a wallchart or graph on a spreadsheet to see how your body works

If you are upset by weight fluctuations then put those scales out of sight till after your 14 days on induction
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Hello there! Please don't weigh yourself everyday...it will drive you nuts due to the fluctuations in your weight daily. If you didn't lose another pound on induction you still would be a success story. You have 18 pounds to lose and have already lost 7...that is amazing.
