  • Ice Cream

    I found some ice cream bars that are only 3 net carbs....can I eat it during induction? If not can I in OWL?

    also
    Ok so is the 20 net carbs allowed doe sthat include the carbs allowed from cheese and sweetners? Or are those on top of the 20??

    Do you have the book? You should read DANDR 2002 edition that will answer all your questions. During Induction you're only allowed 20 net carbs 12-15 of those net carbs should come from veggies. 20 net carbs include cheese, veggies, cream, etc.

    Are you still on Induction? I believe you mentioned in an different post that you only have 9 lbs to lose...Dr. Atkins suggests that when you have about 5-10 lbs. to lose you should already be in Pre-Maintanence. I think you should move onto OWL as soon as you can! Hope that helps!

    You're only supposed to eat what's on the allowed list during Induction. I've had ice cream during induction and it stalls me big time and cause MAJOR cravings. I'm not sure what level of OWL you'll be allowed to have them. I would think it would be maintenance or at least once you figure out your CCLL and/or CCLM before you could legally have them.

    It seems with a couple of other posts that you still seem to have sugar cravings. Atkins is meant to help curb addictions. I would suggest stay away from ALL sugar/sweeteners, etc. That way your body will have time to conquer it's sugar/sweetener addiction.

      Thank you so much for the post. I haven't had time to get the book yet. I will look this weekend.
      I originally wanted to loose 13lbs and on day 3 I've already lost 4 so that's why I need to only loose 9 more.
