  • Starting back again! =D

I did Atkins a few years ago, with good success, though I was not "ready" to accept that fact that I had to actually start controlling myself. I was looking at this like I could stuff my face and keep up old eating habits as long as they were atkins legal foods. So, since then, I have taught myself to be hungry sometimes, to stop emotional eating or at least recognize it and put down the food, and also just to see myself for how heavy I really am and know that it is not healthy or okay.

Anyway, I am starting Atkins again! YAY! I can't wait. I have to get paid first, which does not happen until June 5th! Boo. But in the meantime, I am going to choose mainly Atkins foods (whatever I have in my fridge) and supplement with "garbage" otherwise until I can officially start on the 5th.

I am SO stinkin excited! I know this is my time! =D

Good for you Splandrea! You sound SOOOOOO ready. As a suggestion, why don't you reread (or read) DANDR while you're waiting? With your previous experience, you're sure to get lots of information you might have missed before.

Congrats to you! I too am going on my last time around, starting tomorrow, June 1st. I'm excited as well, and a bit nervous, for I can remember the "Induction Flu". The first 2-3 weeks was hard for me, but I'm sticking to it this time!

I went out and bought all my stuff for about 2 weeks worth.....vegetables, cheese, ham, bacon, chicken, etc. I have them all in individual baggies, so all I have to do is grab a bag of this, and grab a bag of that and go! ( I'm in home health so I'm on the go alot! ) My husband also bought me a very nice Treadmill, and is getting me the Wii Fit. So I am thrilled!! I WILL NOT FAIL THIS TIME!!

Well, I read several chapters of the DANDR and I am feeling sad that I have to wait until payday. I also noticed the STAC people, so I am going to go over there are see what kind of successs they have had. The longest I have prevously stuck to this plan is about 5 weeks - and I lost at least 20 pounds. That is SO much right now considering I have been on WW for 5 months and have only lost about 27.

                  Hey Andrea!

I remember you. I was here a couple of years ago as well. Was quite successful. Then fell into the great carb abyss and just climbed my way out. I am on day 5! Looking forward to seeing you on the boards.

                        Welcome back Andrea,

Don't worry, I didn't have the book until a month into my program either. But I spent a great deal of time reading the sticky notes at the beginning of the 14-day induction forum. At first everything seemed so picky, but I'm so glad I stuck to it, because I'm now able to control my portion sizes and since I'm eating well, I'm not getting hungry that much. Good luck. There's so much info here. So many supportive people. I'm blown away by this way of eating. Go ahead and embrace the low-carb way of life. Take the time to learn from your mistakes, as well as those others make. You'll thank yourself for taking the time to learn as much as you can. Good luck!
