  • Eating Time......

So the golden rule is to eat at least every 6 hours. I've got that down pat. I have been on induction for about a week, and its gotten to the point that I dont need any snacks and can make it the 6 hours between meals. However, that brings me to some questions.

First, I cant eat first thing in the morning. I need to wake up and let my body wake up. For example, this morning, due to working a late shift, I slept until 10am, and didnt eat my breakfast until 11. I havent seen anything black and white that says this should be bad, but I wanted to run it by you all.

Second, is it bad to go the full 6 hours before eating? Should I force myself to eat something in the meantime? My body doesnt feel hungry and I feel I can make the 6 hours. Thoughts?

Finally, how late can I eat before I go to bed? I work swing shift and when I get off, it will be time for my 3rd meal, which will be about 1100pm. I have heard you shouldnt eat 3 hours before going to bed. Should the same apply?

Thanks ahead of time for your answers.

i go longer than 6 hours sometimes and it doesnt affect my weight loss. i think it would depend on the person so i say as long as you are seeing a loss, then it's fine. if you stall, then try snack inbetween meals.

The six hours is the longest Dr Atkins thought you should go without eating, so go with your hunger and if not hungry for the full six hours then dont eat till then - but dont feel you need to force the whole 6 hours.

Your 11 oclock break-fast seems fine to me. I often dont eat till I have been up and about for an hour or so.

As for not eating 3 hours before bed, there is no reason to stick to this that I know. If your schedule means eating later than most other people, then eat when it suits you.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Thank you for the posts. I really felt when reading the book I should force feed myself. Its really amazing the transformation appetite has taken since I started Atkins.
